Local Leadership

The Casper Grey Reef Chapter of Trout Unlimited is an all-volunteer conservation nonprofit working to care for and recover rivers and streams and the trout that call them home. Working with TU staff and community partners, we bring people together to make our trout and salmon fisheries stronger, our water cleaner and our communities healthier. Join us and be a champion for your rivers and streams.

If you have the interest and time to make a deeper commitment to our local conservation and education work, we’d welcome you on the board or one of our many committees. To get started, connect with a Casper Grey Reef TU board member at one of our monthly gatherings or coming events, or contact us to learn more.

PRESIDENT
Scott Novotny

A founding pillar of our organization, Scott Novotny has been a dedicated member of the board since the chapter’s very first days. A retired local teacher, Scott seamlessly blends his professional background in education with his deep-rooted commitment to our community’s growth. Beyond his leadership in the boardroom, he is an avid fishing enthusiast who finds his greatest inspiration on the water. This unique combination of patience, mentorship, and a love for the outdoors allows Scott to bring a grounded, thoughtful perspective to everything we do, ensuring that our mission remains as resilient and enduring as the local waters he loves to fish.

VICE PRESIDENT
Robin Baye

Bringing a wealth of strategic expertise to the table, Robin Baye joins us as a new community member with a distinguished career in leadership development at Kroger. Robin’s professional background in cultivating talent and driving organizational growth is matched by his deep personal connection to the outdoors, particularly his passions for bird hunting and fishing. He steps into this role with a clear, ambitious vision: to leverage his leadership experience to expand our chapter’s reach and impact, ultimately establishing it as one of the preeminent voices for conservation in the Casper area.

SECRETARY/TREASURER

Matt Stanton

A familiar face in the community, Matt Stanton serves as a local pharmacist, bringing a meticulous and caring touch to his professional life that he carries over into his role with the chapter. When he isn’t behind the counter or out on the water pursuing his lifelong love of fishing, Matt is usually found on the sidelines of local fields and courts. A dedicated father, he spends much of his time helping his young children chase their own passions, navigating the busy schedule of youth sporting events with the same patience and commitment he brings to both his career and the outdoors.

DIRECTOR OF FUN
Randy Stalker

As another cornerstone of our chapter, Randy Stalker has been a vital member since the day we were founded, bringing an unparalleled depth of knowledge regarding Wyoming’s waters. Whether he’s casting locally or exploring the furthest reaches of the state, Randy’s expertise is second to none—a fact well-known to the many anglers who follow his YouTube channel. Through his videos, he generously shares “hidden gem” locations and technical insights, helping others discover the true beauty of our state’s fisheries. His long-term commitment to the chapter and his role as a digital ambassador for Wyoming angling make him an invaluable resource for seasoned pros and newcomers alike.

BOARD MEMBER AT LARGE
Werner Studer

A stalwart of the local community, Werner Studer has been a dedicated presence in our chapter since its very foundation. His commitment to the organization is fueled by a deep-seated passion for conservation and a profound love for Wyoming’s diverse waters. Werner’s long-term perspective and steady advocacy have been instrumental in protecting the natural resources we all enjoy, ensuring that his life-long appreciation for the state’s pristine environment translates into a lasting legacy for future generations of anglers and nature lovers alike.
